Rangers center back Luca Gasparotto will join Airdrie in Scottish League One on a loan deal through January. The 19-year old has begun a critical season in his career – as his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, while he simultaneously is on the radar for Canada’s next World Cup qualifying cycle in the coming few years.
Gasparotto joined Stirling Albion last year on a month long loan. He made three appearances before returning back to Murray Park.
He has failed to see first team action with Rangers since the 2012-13 season & it comes as no surprise that he has been loaned out.
Airdrie are off to a woeful start to their season, sitting at the foot of the table. They have earned one point in four matches, have yet to score a goal, & have conceded six. Former Rangers goalkeeper Scott Gallacher spent much of last season with the Diamonds before eventually being released this summer.
Hopefully by the time these young lads come back in January we will have a manager in charge that will give young lads a chance. Gasparotto would be a better bet at centre half than either of the two incumbents that currently play this role and bot McKay and Gallagher would be better options than a number of McCoist’s other signings!

Im afraid to say we have too many options at the back. some good and some bad but when you see some of the duds plying there trade at us in defense like Foster,Faure,McCulloch, its sad to see him not been given a run of games to show what he can do.
