Two of the three Vancouver Whitecaps youngsters who were training with Rangers last week have now gone south to Liverpool for a week long training excursion.
Left back Sam Adekugbe & center back Christian Dean will begin training with Liverpool on Monday, while Kianz Froese has already headed to Florida for a youth development camp.
Jon Szekeres of 86 Forever, a Whitecaps blog, recently shared his assessment of the trio during their stint at Murray Park. “All three are valuable pieces in the Caps prospect pool, especially Dean and Adekugbe, who are seen as the future for the team at their respective positions.”
“Dean could very well be playing serious minutes for the Whitecaps next season with the future of Andy O’Brien in doubt, while Sam could see more action as well, especialy if Jordan Harvey is picked up in the upcoming expansion draft.
“They both got some game action this year and looked very capable, and Vancouver are lucky to have them at their disposal. I’m a big fan of Dean, in particular.”
Adekugbe recently captained the Canadian U20 team & lined up alongside Rangers very own Luca Gasparotto in the Canadian defence.
